Royal Marines Necklace Light Infantry Pendant British Militia
Royal Marines necklace made a vintage uniform button.
- I love it when I find vintage buttons from around the world.
- The button appears to be very old. Not too sure which era it is from.
- It is a button from the Royal Marines Light Infantry.
- It is strung on a brass tone chain that is 18 inches in length.
- The button measures in at 7/8 inch in diameter.
-----------------------
This necklace is stunning and filled with history. The button is, what I believe to be, a vintage uniform button. I am unsure which era it would be from though. It is embellished the words "Royal Marines Light Infantry". During World War I, in addition to their usual stations aboard ship, Royal Marines were part of the Royal Naval Division which landed in Belgium in 1914 to help defend Antwerp and later took part in the amphibious landing at Gallipoli in 1915. It also served on the Western Front in the trenches. The detail on the button has a beautiful patina to it that makes the details stand out. It is strung on a matching brass tone chain that is 18 inches in length. The button measures in around 7/8 inch in diameter.
